PROPER PRUNING COURSE
While we all agree that we can do much more good, with much less effort with a hand pruner early in the life of a tree, we are often called in to prune a tree when this luxury is long gone. The trees are now riddled with large structural defects whose correction would be highly invasive. We are asked to be as non-invasive as possible and ANSI A300 standards suggest this too. What do we do?
In this course we will start at the beginning and advance through the many stages at which we may be called to prune a tree. We will consider tree’s responses to pruning and invite them to guide our work. We will cover just a little anatomy and physics.
We will spend half the time indoors and half outside (weather providing) touching trees
